Beacon Thermography, Inc.

Beacon Thermography, Inc. provides non-invasive imaging services designed to support early insight and informed health decisions. We specialize in digital infrared thermal imaging (thermography) and breast ultrasound, offering radiation-free screening options in a calm, professional clinical setting.

Our services are performed by certified clinical thermographers using FDA-compliant equipment, with all studies interpreted by board-certified medical professionals. We believe in combining advanced technology, consistent protocols, and compassionate care to help clients better understand their health.

Beacon Thermography serves clients throughout Coastal North Carolina, Wilson, the Raleigh–Durham–Cary area, and Blacksburg, VA at established clinical locations.

Our Technology & Standards

Beacon Thermography uses the IRIS 640 Thermal Imaging Camera, a medical-grade Digital Infrared Thermal Imaging system by Meditherm.

Meditherm is recognized as an industry leader in medical Digital Infrared Thermal Imaging equipment and processes. The IRIS 640 is designed specifically for clinical thermal imaging, offering high-resolution imaging, sensitivity, and precision to support accurate readings across areas of interest.

All thermal images are securely transmitted and interpreted by board-certified MDs, DOs, and radiologists using advanced analysis tools. Reports are prepared according to established clinical protocols and returned with clear documentation and recommendations when appropriate.

At Beacon Thermography, we focus on education, accuracy, and continuity of care.

Thermography evaluates physiological activity by identifying subtle temperature variations that may reflect changes in circulation or inflammation. Ultrasound provides anatomical imaging using high-frequency sound waves. Each service can be scheduled independently and may be used alongside conventional imaging such as mammography or MRI.
Thermography and ultrasound do not diagnose disease and do not replace traditional medical care. Instead, they are intended to complement existing screening and monitoring strategies and to support informed conversations with healthcare providers.

Shelly Laine is a results-driven clinical thermography professional and company owner with advanced expertise in infrared imaging (2300+ scans), holistic wellness, and client-centered health support. Shelly holds multiple certifications in clinical thermography and related wellness disciplines, with a strong commitment to delivering accurate, high-quality thermal imaging services in a professional and compassionate environment. Experienced in educating clients on preventative wellness approaches, collaborating with healthcare practitioners, and maintaining the highest standards in imaging protocols, reporting, and patient care. Dedicated to empowering clients through early detection support, wellness education, and integrity-driven service.

Susan Hill

Certified Clinical Thermographer
Susan Hill is a Certified Clinical Thermographer with a strong academic foundation in biological sciences. She brings over a decade of professional experience spanning healthcare, laboratory science, and client services. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology, with a minor in Chemistry, from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, where she was awarded a full academic scholarship in recognition of her academic excellence.

Susan’s introduction to thermography began as a patient, where she experienced firsthand the value of this non-invasive imaging technology. Inspired by its impact on her own health journey, she pursued formal certification through the American College of Clinical Thermography, completing her training in April 2025. Today, Susan combines her scientific background with compassionate care to support others through early, non-invasive thermal imaging.
